A Prickly Bunch

These lovely wild flowers are beginning to make an appearance in the forests and hills around here.

They're really prickly too!!

Thanks Sheila. I always find shades of purple hard to mix.

Hi Marjorie, love the blues and purples in this one and especially on the left how splashes of colour have fallen into the background. what are these flowers? Type of thistle?

Hi Laurie. Thanks for kind words re my work. yes I don't mind at all if you link to my blog. (Don't know too much about links etc). Will pop over to yours again to see if any better news.

Hi Rahina. Ta for the nice words about my painting. It always takes me ages to get the colours at that end of the spectrum just the way I want them. Don't know if they're right yet. I think they're thistles.Very lethal thorns anyway!

I missed this one on my last visit. The thistles are beautiful - stunning colors. I think you really captured the true color here. Someone gave me a bunch of thistles for my birthday last year. They lasted so long and you are right, they have plenty of thorns.
